Stardom Pro Drive
Bespoke internal RAID solution for Mac Pro with RAID 1 and nRAID.

Product Description: Hardware based RAID drive bay for the Apple MAc Pro, the Pro Drive is contoured to fit the Mac Pro seamlessly. Each Pro Drive has 2 x 2.5" SATA drive that can be configured to RAID 1 for redundancy protection in case of drive failure, or to RAID 0 for Speed.

Imagine a RAID 1 set straight out a 3.5" drive that's fault tolerant and provides instant real-time backup. The Pro Drive does exactly that through a simple option switch. The built in RAID chip provides the option of allowing two internal 2.5" drive to consistently mirror each other during data I/O. Even if one of the drives fails, the other will instantly pick up where the other drive has left off for you to continue working. It's the perfect and maintenance free backup system for your MAC OS or for essential files that need extra protection.

The Pro Drive holds two quiet and low power consumption 2.5" hard drives which consume only one-tenth of power when compared to a standard 3.5" hard drive and bring out the same speedy performance or better.
When set to a RAID 0 striping set, the Pro Drive brings out the best storage performance running at a stunning 122 MB per second, just about 3MB shy from the performance of a 15,000 rpm, 3.5" SAS ( Serial Attach SCSI ) drive which is significantly higher in cost. But when compared to a 7200 rpm, standard 3.5" SATA hard drive, the Pro Drive outperforms it by 30 percent!
